Domain Name System services in Project Colo are provided using the Internet Software Consortium's Bind
9. New zones to be served should be added to the main configuration file
/etc/bind/named.conf in the same manner as existing entries. A
comment should accompany the entry giving the contact for the domain, and the
person at Project Colo responsible for it (if different). When we are the
master name server for a zone, the zone file should be placed in
/etc/bind/zonefiles and kept under RCS control, and it
can be arranged for Caladan to
act as secondary for the domain.
Documentation for Bind 9 can be found in
/usr/share/doc/bind9-doc/ on kerouac.
